Like an old school amp - this rose de France amethyst is a stunner, cut in one of my favorite patterns, opposed bar cuts create these awesome linear reflections as you rocks the stone. Clocking in at 4.59cts. Think this color could be called Washed Violet.

Big 5.86ct butterfly cut bicolor tourmaline. Plenty of obvious inclusions but it’s an awesome stone in hand, nice color transition from light green to light yellow/pink. This was originally from #hbosch probably Nigerian.

3.28cts of beautiful deep forest green tourmaline for this St. Patrick’s day - killer flash on this - rough sourced from #hbosch in Africa.

15.09ct whopper of an aquamarine- has some veils which up close look celestial floating through the gem. This one is big, not sure what I was thinking in cutting it, maybe tiara? Ginormous pendant? Who knows, the color reminds me of mid-winter icicles.

One of my absolute favorite gem varieties - this is spessartite garnet from Lolindo, Tanzania - also known as Fanta color garnet (easy to see why) it’s pretty much mined out which makes this big 3.91 carat gem even more special. At this size it always has various inclusions, some say the “sugar” imperfections are actually responsible for the neon glow. Cut a few years ago, every few months it makes it’s way to the workbench while I noodle on ideas, then it goes back on the shelf, one of these days a worthy design will present itself.

Old stock Afghan tourmaline rough from The 80’s that I scored a couple years ago - this stuff glows when cut and it cuts pretty easy - we call this color “Baby Lime” 5.17cts - not sure what to do with it.. big ring? Pendant? Nose stud?
Keeping with the big dangly coral theme - these are custom cut Indonesian fossilized coral with ruby cabochons set in 14kt yellow gold. The stones are wide but very thin so they are quite comfortable...just don’t try to run while wearing them. Available.
Fossilized coral on coral...too much coral? Top cabochons are natural carnelian agate, the caps are sterling with beautiful citrines and the drops are fossilized coral from Indonesia. Completely handmade and one of a kind! Available.
I’ve always loved acorns, think of how many cartoons show squirrels or chipmunks or whatever that thing in Ice Age was chasing these little nutrient bundles or classical art depicting them in tapestries and gold. Even now, the best pork is raised free range under oak trees so that they can gorge themselves on the bountiful acorns falling, mana from above. These acorn earrings are hand fabricated from sterling silver and feature huge custom cut Indonesian opals. Available.
Lapis has always been a favorite, as a kid I read an article in Lapidary Journal about collecting literal boulders of it in the mountains of Chile, the rock hounds had to travel with extra tires because the ground was so jagged...talk about spurring a young imagination. Anyways, these lapis and sterling silver studs are biiig and bold and have sparkles of gold pyrite.
Sterling silver and zircon starfish - zircon is a natural and pretty awesome stone that suffers from a superficial name similarity to cubic zirconia which is synthetic c@$p in my humble opinion. BUT, zircon is an awesome stone with a high refractive index (lots of sparkle) and great colors. Like spinel (another awesome stone) it is finally starting to get some respect.
Rose cut carnelian and silver saucer studs - simple but with lots of shimmer and shine...also mask friendly, just sayin.
Opals are the best, go ahead, try and convince me otherwise! These little studs are light and full of flash. #opals #handmade #grspearman

I cut this chrysoberyl from a raw unassuming nugget, the end result is a fluorescent glowing gem that really has me looking to cut more of this material. When looking at the cut stone though I can’t help but be reminded of the transformation it went through, and the inclusions and fire still give it a raw primordial feel. A setting that echoed those aspects seemed fitting, the final ring is polished inside the band and on high points but the crannies and nooks are brushed and textured. Just the one stone, emerging from the rawness to really shine... enough waxing poetic, it’s 18kt gold with a 1ct chrysoberyl and is not available. #customcutting #lapidary #grspearman
It’s been five years since we recited our vows and started this life together. Our family has gotten smaller and bigger in that time, and is continuing to grow. I can’t think of anyone I would rather have as a partner in travel, in challenges and in growth - here’s to many more years @ermelak ! #5yearanniversary
New set of saucer cufflinks - sterling silver, pink tourmaline cabs and faceted sapphires. Something to see from the front and the back. Recently made a custom set of these for a Father’s Day gift with the lovely couple’s kid’s birthstones (ruby and tourmaline) as the cabs and the mother’s birthstone (emerald) in the backs. Jewelry should be personal! #grspearman #customjewelry #handmade #tourmaline #cufflinks #sapphire #finejewelry
